Anchorage Digital raised $350 million (about €309 million) bringing its valuation to $3 billion (about €2.7 billion). Led by the Portuguese Diogo Mónica, it now attains the status of a Unicorn. It is the 7th startup with national DNA to reach this status, the first native crypto with national colors to fly to this level, in a year in which four unicorns were born with Portuguese co-founders.
Great news to the Portuguese ecosystem and we look forward to seeing more successes like this one, ensuring Europe’s positioning as a technology hub. Of course it is great to have unicorn companies but it’s only a benchmark. We have to work with companies valued at $10 million, $50 million, $100 million. They all are super valuable, since they create jobs and make the ecosystem work.
